Even though you can read about my teaching and research interests here, I welcome you to come to my office in 414 Dey Hall and talk to me about your own interests in German, as well as our different major and minor tracks in the German language and literature part of of our department. In the Spring semester 2017, you can always find me in my office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as on most Mondays and Friday. If you wish to set up an appointment with me, write me an email at wegel@email.unc.edu

Currently, I am teaching German 301, which focuses on contemporary texts and films that address the larger question of how different decisions affect characters in the text we read. The other course I am teaching is German 374, a small seminar focuses on discussing theater plays – and rehearsing and performing Frank Wedekind’s seminal play Frühlings Erwachen from 1891. The performances will take place on Monday, April 24, and Tuesday, April 25, at 6 PM in Toy Lounge in Dey Hall. And best thing: Free admission!

My office is a Safe Zone and open to everyone. To learn more about the idea of a Safe Zone at Carolina, please go to https://lgbtq.unc.edu/programs-services/safe-zone
